HOUSE OF HOLLAND SPRING 2010

Henry Holland continues building on his label each season. It was only a couple of years ago that he started out with bright coloured t-shirts with cheesy slogans printed on them (Get your freak on Giles Deacon-cringe). Despite the cheese they were hugely successful and widely copied by the High street chains.

His Spring collection was a fun step forward in colour and attitude. There were beige dress suits with a dorky print of a house, fuschia rompers and gauzy tangerine knit tops. A dress with blocks to highlight various parts of the body recalled Westwood and the 90’s work of Walter Van Bierendonck.

Whether or not you want to admit it there’s definitely a Lady Gaga knickers trend hopping about. Collections sometimes have sheer or see-through garments that are runway only and they usually have a lining or a slip back in the showroom but I have a feeling Holland’s clients would wear his more risqué outfits sans slip.
